This privacy policy (the "Policy") explains how ATENA Education Inc., as well as its affiliates or subdivisions (collectively, "ATENA Education ", "we", "us" and "our") collect, use and disclose the personal information of individuals who use their Services. We also want to inform you of your rights over your personal information and how to exercise them.
ATENA Education is strongly committed to respecting the privacy of its customers. Consequently, this Policy aims to comply with the requirements related to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, in accordance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (chapter P-39.1).
By using our Services (as defined below), you agree to the collection, use, disclosure, retention, and destruction of your Personal Information in accordance with this Policy and applicable laws. Please read this Policy carefully to understand our practices regarding the collection, processing and retention of your personal information. If you do not agree with our Policy, please stop using our Services. If you continue to use our Services after we make changes, it means that you accept and consent to those changes; therefore, we encourage you to review the Policy regularly to see if it has been updated.
- WHEN DOES THIS POLICY APPLY?
Our Policy APPLIES only to personal information that we collect and process when you use the following services offered by ATENA Education (collectively, the "Services"):
- When you browse the websites or access or use on the applications operated by ATENA Education (collectively, the "Platforms")
- When you subscribe to our newsletters;
- When you create an account;
- When you purchase products from ATENA Education ; and
- When you complete exercises on our Platforms.
Our Policy also APPLIES to personal information about you that we receive from a third party, in accordance with applicable laws, unless otherwise specified in the terms of that third party's privacy policy. In this case, any inquiries regarding the privacy practices of third parties should be directed to them.
Our Platforms may contain hyperlinks to third-party sites that may cause you to leave our Platforms. Because these third-party sites are not under our control, ATENA Education has no control over the privacy and confidentiality practices of these third-party sites. Therefore, this Policy DOES NOT apply to personal information that you provide to these third-party sites, when it is not used by ATENA Education. In this case, the policy of these third-party sites applies. It is your responsibility to review them in order to ensure the protection of the information collected by these sites.
The Policy DOES NOT apply to anonymous information, which is information that does not include an individual's name, contact information, or any other information that could reasonably be used to identify the individual.
- WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Personal information is information about a natural person that can be identified, directly or indirectly. Personal information is confidential information.
- HOW WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We use a variety of methods to collect your personal information, including:
Direct interactions with you when you provide it to us, such as by filling out registration forms on our Platforms to create an account, or by corresponding with us by phone, email, or when you enter contests.

- From third parties or publicly available sources, e.g. our business partners or when you interact with accounts owned or controlled by ATENA Education on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, etc.

To provide our services, we need to collect certain personal information. We only collect what is necessary to make our Platform work properly and provide you with a tailored experience. The following information we may collect:
- Your contact information
- First and last name;
- Email;
- Address;
Phone number;
- Your training
- Name of the training courses taken;
- Dates de participation ;
- Time spent on our Platforms and your interactions;
Details of your purchases or registrations;
- Your Use of Our Platforms
- IP address and type of device used;
- Internet browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari);
- Internet provider and operating system;
- Pages visited, links clicked, courses viewed, functions used;
- Date and time of your visits;
Geographical location;
- Your interactions with us
- Searches carried out on our platforms;
- Training courses viewed, followed or added as a favorite;
- Messages sent by email or phone;
- Comments, marketing preferences, responses to surveys or contests.
ATENA Education does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 14, unless express consent is obtained from the holder of parental authority or legal guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and you have reason to believe that your child under the age of 14 has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact our Privacy Officer. We will take steps to delete this information from our systems.
- FOR WHAT PURPOSES DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We may only use your personal information for certain purposes and where we have the legal basis to do so. Here are the reasons why we may use your personal information:
- To provide you with our products and services
- To contact you and stay informed:
Respond to your questions and inquiries and process choices related to the information;
- Notify you of the availability of updates to the ATENA Education Platforms and changes to any products or services we offer or provide on our Platforms; and
For marketing purposes
- Market our Services;
- Analyze information such as browsing or training purchase history and use the result to optimize advertising based on your interests and preferences; and
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and promotions;
- Manage promotions such as contests and other giveaways.
To personalize and improve your customer experience:
- We may use the communications you exchange with us and information about your use of our Platforms to improve our Services and to ensure that you receive marketing communications from us that will be of interest to you.
To personalize and optimize your experience on our Platforms through the use of cookies and other tracking technologies and applications:
- Track and analyze your use of our Platforms in order to improve the relevance of content and learn about your preferences;
- Measure the effectiveness and relevance of our advertising and promotions;
- Conduct product or sales research and market analysis in order to improve our Services;
- To personalize the marketing communications we send you, if you have agreed to receive such communications; and
- Carry out relationship and targeted marketing campaigns using social media and other advertising partners.

- Promote security, verify the identity of our customers, prevent and investigate fraud and unauthorized activity, defend against claims and other liabilities, and manage other risks;
- To fulfil our obligations and enforce our rights in contracts with you, including for billing and collection or to comply with legal requirements;
- To comply with applicable laws, protect our rights and interests and those of our users, defend ourselves and respond to requests from law enforcement, other legal authorities and requests that are part of a legal process; and
- Operate our business for legitimate business purposes and within the limits of the law.
- HOW DO WE USE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files that a website may place on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a website or web page. We use cookies to improve the performance of our Platforms, quantify the number of visitors to our Platforms, authenticate authorized users, and to analyze and define our users' interests to better personalize our Services.
ATENA Education uses Google Analytics, a tool that implements cookies on your device, to view data relating to the traffic and activity of our Platforms. You can normally control the storage of cookies using the options offered by your web browser. Disabling certain cookies may affect the quality of your browsing experience or make certain features of our Platforms unavailable. Google Analytics has its own privacy policy, you can check their policy by clicking on the attached link.
The use of cookies is required for user authentication. Unless a user has previously provided information about themselves (e.g., by activating a service linked to a user account) from their mobile device or computer, cookies do not directly identify them.
You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser. Some of them can be turned off. Here's how:

- By enabling or disabling unnecessary cookies in your browser
- By using a browser designed to maximize your privacy protection like Brave or Duck Duck Go.
- WHEN AND WITH WHOM WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Unless we mention it in the table below or via a clear notice, the personal information collected by ATENA Education is not sold, distributed, rented or communicated to other persons or organizations. However, if we share your information with third parties, it is only to help us use it as described in the5.
ATENA Education may share your personal information with individuals and in the following situations:
Our employees, agents, service providers and suppliers
ATENA Education may share your personal information with third parties engaged to provide services to you or to fulfill the purposes described in the Policy. This includes third-party providers offering training and services through our Platforms, as well as third parties or ATENA Education affiliates that provide us with IT, data processing or storage services, and any other services that help provide you with our Services. For example, AWS hosts and stores ATENA Education data.
Restructuring and business transfer
If we are considering restructuring or selling all or a portion of ATENA Education, we may share the information we have collected with the individuals or organizations involved before and after that transaction, whether or not it happens. In such cases, we require such individuals or organizations to commit to maintaining the confidentiality of the personal information shared and to use it only in connection with or as a result of that transaction, in accordance with our Policy.
Legal requirements
We may also disclose your collected personal information to other individuals or organizations if we are directed to do so by a competent authority under applicable law or if applicable law permits such disclosure, even without your consent.
ATENA Education may disclose certain personal information when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of ATENA Education, its customers, or others. This includes, for example, exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
- WHERE DO WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Depending on the nature of the personal information, it may be stored by ATENA Education or with service providers. Your personal information is stored in Canada.
- HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We retain your information for the purposes for which we collected it, no longer. We then implement reasonable means to destroy your personal information. However, the law imposes retention periods for certain types of information, particularly in tax matters. As a result, payment and billing information (e.g., billing address, name) is retained for 7 years, in accordance with tax laws.
Once the purposes for which we collected it are fulfilled, we implement reasonable means to destroy your personal information.
- HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
The security and protection of your personal information is important to us. We take the following steps to keep your personal information secure:
- Our electronic devices are protected by passwords and our internet network by a firewall.
- We sign confidentiality agreements with our subcontractors.
- We have developed an information security policy that all our employees must comply with.
- We choose recognized and trustworthy service providers.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not 100% secure. Although ATENA Education has adopted measures that meet recognized security standards to ensure privacy and the protection of personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us, and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information will not be accessed, obtained, disclosed, altered or destroyed as a result of the breach of our physical, technical or administrative safeguards. If you have reason to believe that personal information has been compromised, please contact our Privacy Officer.
- WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS IN RELATION TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
You have fundamental rights with respect to your personal information.
- Right to be informed: You may request to be informed about the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.
- Right of access : You may request to see the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: You can also ask us to correct the information we hold about you if it is inaccurate or out of date.
- Right to data portability: You have the right to request a copy of your personal information held by us.
- Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information. Please note, however, that withdrawing consent may limit ATENA Education's ability to offer you certain products or Services, prevent ATENA Education from providing them to you, or even require ATENA Education to stop offering them to you. In addition, even in the event of withdrawal of such consent, ATENA Education may nevertheless have the right or obligation to maintain the retention, use or disclosure of certain personal information.

We will respond to any written request no later than 30 days of receipt, if possible. Fees may be applicable for excessive, repetitive, complex, voluminous requests or simply when it involves additional supply fees for specific requests.
We may verify the identity of an individual seeking access to personal information. The information provided for the purpose of such verification will not be recorded or used for any other purpose.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you update your personal information, such as contact information, with ATENA Education.
- CHANGES TO OUR POLICY
We may change this Privacy Policy. If we change it, we will indicate this on our website. The updated version of the policy will apply from the date of publication.
